HAZEL ANN (URBAN) TAIBI, 83, of Bloomingdale, OH, formerly of Follansbee, WV, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Trinity Medical Center, Steubenville, OH. Hazel was born on November 27, 1941 in Wellsburg, WV. She was the daughter of the late Max Urban and Gertude (Engstrom) Urban. Hazel graduated from St. Anthony High School, Follansbee. She worked as a waitress at the former Anchor Room, Follansbee and former Holiday Inn, Steubenville, OH in addition to Brooke and Stanko Catering Companies. Hazel loved to cook and took special pride in making World Class Cookies blessing everyone around with her love, cooking and open hospitality. She also loved to vacation with her husband, family and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, John Ernest Taibi; a daughter, Kimberly Ann Taibi; and a sister, Penny Urban. Hazel is survived by her two children, John Ernest Taibi II and his wife, Diane of Stafford, VA and Peter Taibi of Bloomingdale, OH; three grandchildren: Antonio Taibi and his wife, Holly, Garret Taibi and his fiance, Brittney and Sheldon Taibi and his girlfriend, Katie; three great grandchildren, Donovan, Abbey and Atlas Taibi; a sister, Ella Cook of Bloomingdale, OH; two sisters-in-law, Geraldine Taibi of Follansbee, WV and Theresa Iafrate of Warwood, WV; several nieces and nephews; and dear friends and traveling partners Josie and Ralph Urso, Kitty Martino and John and Patty Ceglie. The James Funeral Home, Follansbee was honored and privileged to comply with Hazel’s wish for a private cremation and burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee.
