JOHN P. STARINSKY, SR., 92, passed away September 27, 2025, at Valley Hospice, Steubenville, OH. He was born September 2, 1933, in Penowa, PA to the late John Starinsky and Jennie Chanze Starinsky Gabrielli. John was a retired electrician from Weirton Steel Corp. with 47 years of service, was a very active member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Steubenville, OH, where he held several positions, a member of Weirton Steel 25-year Club, and a former member of Appalachian Folk Music Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Michael Starinsky, and his fur companion Muffin Shey. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Kay Williamson Starinsky, who he married August 28, 1981; five sons: John Starinksy, Jr. (Charlene) of Jewett, OH, Luke Starinsky (Evelyn) of Loganville, GA, Matthew Starinsky (Vicki) of Columbus, OH, Mark Starinsky (Cassandra) of New Albany, OH, and William Logan (Tonya) of Follansbee, WV; his daughter, Mary Ohlin (James) of Powell, OH; a brother, Joseph Gabrielli (Cynthia) of Steubenville, OH; two sisters: Helen Estep of Mingo Junction, OH and Mary Perovich of Douglasville, PA; his special friend, Clarence Reitter; his fur companion, Buddy; fourteen grandchildren; six step grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and nine step great grandchildren. Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Reasner Funeral Home, Wellsburg. The funeral service was held Thursday, October 2, 2025, at the funeral home, with Rev. Scott A. Kuntz officiating. Interment followed at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee.
