MICHAEL LEROY SUMMERS, 49, of Weirton WV, has sadly left us on Saturday, October 4, 2025. Born on June 5, 1976, in Steubenville OH, he was the eldest son of David L. Summers and the late Melody A. Clark. Michael graduated from Brooke High School, Wellsburg, WV, Class of 1994. He also attended WV Northern Community College. Michael was a unique and overwhelmingly kind soul. Always quick with a hug and a smile, he went out of his way to make anyone feel warm and welcomed. Never disingenuous or arrogant, his sense of humor and quick wit would always prevail and everyone would leave feeling just as he intended: as a friend. One of his posts described his personality simply and perfectly, “ I think everybody should be nice to everybody else.” Michael was completely genuine. He would invite the entire neighborhood over if he was grilling outside on a summer day; his music always audible even before you smelled his steaks. Fiercely protective of his loved ones, never was a soul left struggling if he could prevent it. Michael tried to depart to others his greatest attributes: the ability to find peace, remain content, and extend a helping hand. Despite all of the hardships he endured, he never lost the ability to look for the sun amongst the clouds, and make his own happiness. Michael was at home in the outdoors, spending time fishing, boating, and camping with his family. You could find him laughing heartily, first in line at any festival or concert. His only goal was to share and impart joy with everyone around him. He did so with all of the love and compassion he held. He is survived by his father, David L. Summers, step mother, Stephanie Summers, his only sister, Michelle L. Summers and her fiancé Ronald D. Frantum. He is loved by many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his little brother, Matthew J. Summers, his precious niece, Devon C. Summers, and his beloved mother, Melody A. Clark. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Get Togethers, Weirton, starting at 3 p.m. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Steel and Wolfe Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Weirton. Memorial donations can be made to Diabetic Research Foundation, https://diabetesresearch.org. Condolences may be left at www.steelandwolfe.com.
