James “Jim” Yarnell Longacre, Jr.

JAMES YARNELL (JIM) LONGACRE, JR.passed away on October 7, 2025, in The Villages, Florida. Born on January 3, 1927, in Steubenville, Ohio, Jim was the son of James Y. and Margaret Thompson Longacre. With permission of his parents, Jim graduated from Weir High School one semester early so he could enlist in the United States Marine Corps during World War II.  Jim remained stateside, training for the land invasion of Japan, when the war ended. Jim attended Kent State University and became a member of…
