Mary Louise DiFonzo

MARY LOUISE DIFONZO, 85, of Moon Township, PA, formerly of Weirton, WV passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, October 13, 2025. Born on August 1, 1940 by her grandmother in her home in Weirton, WV, Mary was one of seven children of Joseph and Pauline Pirraglia Rocchio. A 1958 graduate of Steubenville Catholic Central High School, Mary went on to marry her high school sweetheart, Andy DiFonzo, on June 11, 1960. Together, they built a loving family grounded in faith, hard work, and devotion. Mary had a keen eye for fashion and beauty. She graduated from the Weirton Beauty Academy, and operated a beauty shop from her home. She was also a licensed phlebotomist. Mary loved spending time with her family and never wanted to miss a gathering or adventure. She devoted her whole life to her children and grandchildren. She was a devout Catholic and spent hours praying daily. In her younger years she was a great bowler and participated in a league. She enjoyed going to the movies, dining out with friends and loved ones, shopping trips, and a good game of miniature golf. A devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Pirates, Mary also cherished her time living in Cocoa, Florida. While living in Weirton, she was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church. After relocating to Moon Township, she joined Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Mary is survived by her children: Vince (Cheryl) DiFonzo, Monica (Danni) Eafrati, Andrea (John) Burns, and Denise (Chris) Haught; her brother, Frank (Sharon) Rocchio; her sisters, Joann (David) Kondik, Jeanette Rocchio- Whitlatch, Francine (Frank) Quattrocchi, and Josette (Marty) Hudek. She was a proud grandmother to Drew (Gia) DiFonzo, Vinnie (Nicolette) DiFonzo, Jadin Eafrati, Nico Eafrati, Joshua (Colleen) Burns, Grace Burns, Jarad Haught, and Mariona Haught. She also leaves behind three great-grandchildren: Sophia Burns, Carmen DiFonzo, and Enzo DiFonzo. Visitation was held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, Weirton. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Saint Joseph the Worker Church, Weirton. Entombment followed at Saint Paul’s Cemetery.
