PAULINE TORTIS, 87, of Weirton, WV, passed away on Tuesday January 6, 2026, at the WVU Medicine -Weirton. She was born on April 11, 1938, one of three daughters born to the late Sam and Joann Demas Orologas. She graduated from Steubenville Big Red High School and on July 9, 1960, married Robert D. Tortis. Together they were blessed with a son, a daughter, a grandson and eventually great-grandchildren who brought Pauline great joy. Pauline devoted her life to caring for her home and family. She was known for her upbeat spirit, strong independence, and her willingness to do anything for others. A gifted cook, Pauline’s kitchen was a place of comfort and love, her food was enjoyed by all, especially her homemade pierogies, which were a favorite among family and friends. She cherished time spent with her friends, particularly playing cards, and in her younger years enjoyed walking with them. Pauline was a member of Saint Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers, Sons of Italy, AARP, and the Four Seasons Seniors. In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Tortis, on September 27, 2001; her son, Robert Charles “Bobby” Tortis, on July 12, 2018; and her sister, Anna Moten. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Tina Marie Tortis; her grandson, Robert Daniel “Bobby” Tortis; her great grandchildren, Lily, Ava, and Robert Charles Tortis; her sister, Mary Johnson; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation was held Saturday, January 10, 2026 until the time of her funeral service, at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, Weirton,with Rev. Fr. Binu Sebastian presiding.
