Last week we touched on words like photo, photon, biophoton and even photosynthesis. It is evident that all these words have the word photo in common with each other. Let’s look at the word photo, what it means and why it has anything to do with our vegetables and our health or well-being.
“Photo” comes from the Greek word: phos meaning “light”. As we know the earliest of cameras were a dark box where a shutter was manipulated to allow a pinhole of light to shine into the box and capture images onto light sensitive materials which became known as photos. Before this in the 4th century a natural phenomenon known as camera obscura and was mostly used to watch solar eclipses and other astronomy events.
With “photo” meaning light, we have the opportunity to understand that anything with this root word in it is going to pertain to something about light or something that derives from light. For instance, photosynthesis is the way the plant produces light into actual building blocks for itself and food for itself.
Biophotons are the non-heated light particles whose Greek meaning is: bio means life and we already know photo means light. Literally biophoton means life-light or the light of life! Because plants aka fruits and vegetable collect light and transmute light into their life as plants they produce naturally biophotons. But they are a natural byproduct of biological processes withing all organisms. They are not visible to the naked eye although they are a consistent presence and evidence of health within the organisms.
Although we cannot see them with our naked eye, one example of recognizing their presence is recollecting a time when you went to a funeral of a loved one. The difference of what that person looked like deceased as opposed to when you saw them live. Their life essence was missing. Of course the soul had left the body but also there were no luminating biophotons left to animate them as well. It is a feeling and visible observation rolled into one and difficult to put into words.
Biophotons emit on a cellular level. In other words, individual cells emit life light! Much current study is being done on these processes and benefits of qualitative as well as quantitative biophotons. And remember we can obtain these on a higher level simply by eating FRESH fruits and vegetables…
Highly sensitive equipment and controlled environments coupled with special device cameras called CCDs(cooled charge-coupled device) can actually capture these emissions from cells. A device called PMTs(photomultiplier tubes) can detect individual photons. Over time the CCDs can create an image.
Recording these photons have the benefit of seeing physically how environmental stressors, states of health and biological functions affect us positively or negatively according to the value of biophotons!
The exciting part; as if none of this is exciting enough, is that there are health benefits to the amount of life light your cells are putting out. There are actual therapies out there now which help us to attain as much life light as possible. It is now known that our cells communicate with each other not only through our electrical systems but they have this essential field of light in which energy is transferred through biophotons. There is remarkable research being done by a fella named Rulent Van Wijk today. His work is influenced by the theoretical physicist, Fritz Albert Popp who originally studied radiation treatments for cancer patients.
Studies have shown that our DNA not only produces biophotons but it also absorbs them. Also, there is discovered correlation between biophoton values and chronic illness. Cellular energy cycles and compromised health are being studied also.
There are many implications for mind-body connectivity where the intersection of consciousness, intention and photon quality implies potential explanations for how the body responds to meditation, breathwork and energy healing modalities. These practices tend to bring in more photons and allows the body to be open to receive them. This has been known to improve physical health as well as psychological health while achieving coherence within the body’s photon fields.
This could not be more exciting than to now know that we can measure the increase and even take photos through the CCD and PMT equipment to physically PROVE what meditation does for us, to prove what energy medicine does for us, to prove what positivity and intention does for us all on a cellular level.
And this is why we feel so good and freshened when we have a great salad, or eat a bowl of watermelon or have a delicious smoothie! We are increasing our biophoton intake. And not only can we increase it by ingestion of fresh food, we can increase it through energy healing, meditation, breathwork and other amazing modalities! Science has now discovered why and how it works. It is not just our imagination. It is real stuff invisible to the human eye. But technology has been growing in leaps and bounds and now our “glasses” for better (in)sight. So it is true…. Carrots are good for your eyes! Now you know why.
