William Bill “Cactus” Clarence Cunningham

WILLIAM BILL “CACTUS” CLARENCE CUNNINGHAM, 95, of Weirton, WV died peacefully on Friday, March 6, 2026, with his family beside him at Weirton Geriatric Center. He was born on March 24, 1930, in Power, WV a son of the late Gloe “Pete” and Helen (Wiles) Cunningham. In addition to his parents Bill is preceded in death by an infant son, William Harold Cunningham; three brothers, Charles, Paul, Tom Cunningham; and four sisters, Thelma Dewitt, Donna Stewart, Mary Jane Kemp, and Betty Lou Fanire. Bill graduated from Wellsburg High School Class of 1948 and was a 50-year member of the Weirton Heights Memorial Baptist Church. He worked until retirement at Weirton Steel Corporation as a mechanic. Bill was highly involved in the community up and down the northern panhandle. He was a member of the West Liberty Masonic Lodge #26 AF & AM, Osiris Shrine, Knights Templar, and Scottish Rite all of Wheeling, WV; Eastern Star #64 of Bethany, WV; RAM Hancock #14 of New Cumberland, WV, Weirton Steel 25-year club, AARP and the NRA. Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth “Eileen” (Mozingo) Cunningham at home; three daughters: Donna Richardson of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Karen (Robert) Grandinetti of Richmond, OH, and Julie Varner of Weirton, WV; seven grandchildren: B.J. (Alaina) Grandinetti, Kelsey (Matt) Arlia, Torrie (Noah) Hilderbrand, and Antonio Grandinetti, Allina (Anthony) Marra, Michael, and Owen Varner; two great grandchildren, Julius and Tommi Grandinetti; two great grandchildren on the way; two siblings, John Cunningham of Weirton and Peggy Hamilton of Joppa, MD; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
