MARTHA ELIZABETH WAKEFIELD, 77, of Follansbee, WV formerly of Central Valley California area died peacefully on Monday, March 30,2025 at Wyngate in Weirton, WV. She was born on November 16,1948 in Wheeling, WV to the late John and Ruth (Agnew) Wakefield. Martha graduated from high school class of 1966 and went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in English Lit. She taught for many years before retiring from teaching 6th Grade English at Portaville School District in California. In her spare time she loved to fly fish, having quite the hand for tying her own flies. She loved shooting guns and being outdoors, but also had a passion for off Broadway plays. She is survived by her loving wife of 25 years, Debbie Carmer at home; her daughter, Molly (Trevor) Cunningham of San Diego, CA; her son, Jacob (Jessica) Cloer of Porterville, CA; two grandchildren, Morgan and Sydney Cloer; her sister, Sally (Ron) Mooreland of Washington; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. There was no visitation. Martha was cremated and laid to rest in California, where she grew up. Arrangements entrusted to the Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee.
