DANIEL “DANNY” CARLOS TEREK, 63, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Brightwood Center, Follansbee, WV, under the care of the staff with the assistance of Amedisys Hospice. Danny was born on May 19, 1962 in Carson, CA. He was the son of the late Robert M. Terek and Doreen F. (Anderson) Terek. He dedicated over 20 years of hard work to Sunesis Trucking in Follansbee, where he built a reputation for his strong work ethic, reliability, and quiet dedication before taking an early retirement. Danny will be fondly remembered for his love of camping at Austin Lake and Seneca Lake, where he found peace and happiness surrounded by nature, often enjoying the simple pleasures of a campfire, good company, and the outdoors. He had a deep appreciation for sports—especially football—and rarely missed an opportunity to watch a game or share in the excitement with family and friends. Danny truly cherished life’s simple moments, whether it was relaxing outside, sharing stories, or just being in the presence of those he loved. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His greatest pride and joy came from his family, and nothing meant more to him than time spent with his grandchildren. They were the light of his life, bringing him endless happiness, laughter, and a sense of purpose that defined him. In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his two siblings, Paul “Joe” Joseph Terek and Mary Hinzman. Danny is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, LesLee (Marsh) Terek; his children, Marissa Nichols and her husband, Jerry, and Robert Terek and his wife, Heather; his cherished grandchildren, Brandon Yoho, Hagen Yoho, Desirae Terek; and his dog, D’Artagnan “Dart”. Danny also leaves behind five siblings: Karen Sindrey and her husband, Steve, Cheryl Plumley and her husband, Doug, Edward Terek and his wife, Shan, Patrick Terek and his wife, Rebecca, and Jean Mayes; his in-laws, Cindy Terek, Ray Hinzman, and Randy Marsh and his wife, Mandy, along with their children, Chelsy, Courtney, and Chloe Marsh; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, especially Ashley (Mayes) McMullen. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Darlene Gerrard. The James Funeral Home of Follansbee was honored and privileged to assist the family with a private cremation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, C/o James Funeral Home, 1245 Main Street, Follansbee, WV 26037.
