KAYANNA SHAFFER, 62, of Wellsburg, WV died peacefully on Monday, April 21, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family. Kayanna was born on December 26, 1963, in Wheeling, WV a daughter of James and Bonnie (Hawkins) Shaffer of Wellsburg, WV. She is preceded in death by one brother, Jereme Shaffer who died on December 15, 2013. Kayanna graduated from Brooke High School in 1981. She worked for several years at Kroger in Wellsburg in the deli department. Kayanna was Christian by faith. Kayanna loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and loved to do photography and play darts along with spend time with family and friends and care for her pets. In addition to her parents, Kayanna is survived by one sister, Tonya Shaffer of Wellsburg, WV; two brothers, James Shaffer and Christopher Shaffer both of Wellsburg; her best friend, Saundra Lancaster of Wellsburg and Saundra’s daughter, Samantha (Koty) Bay, who Kayanna loved like a daughter; several nieces and nephews, among them Cody, Cameron, Aiden, Connor, Thomas, Jamie, Bella, and Katie; and many friends. There was no visitation. A private family gathering was held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were under the direction of Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee.
