City of Follansbee – Temporary City Clerk

CITY OF FOLLANSBEE
TEMPORARY CITY CLERK – VACANCY APPOINTMENT

The City of Follansbee is accepting applications for a Temporary City Clerk to fill a vacancy in the office until the next municipal election.
This is an appointed, temporary position responsible for carrying out the statutory and administrative duties of the City Clerk to ensure continuity of city operations.
Primary Duties Include:
*Maintaining official city records, ordinances, resolutions, and contracts
*Transcribing recordings of minutes for City Council meetings
*Responding to public records requests in accordance with state law
*Coordinating the publication of legal notices
*Assisting with election-related duties as required
*Providing administrative support to city officials and departments
Minimum Qualifications:
*High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework preferred)
*Experience in municipal government, public administration, or clerical work preferred
*Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
*Proficiency with office software and recordkeeping systems
*Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Term of Appointment:
This is a temporary position that will serve until the next regularly scheduled municipal election or until a successor is elected and qualified.
Compensation:
$350 per pay period.
