DORAMAE HICKMAN, 91, of Follansbee, WV, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at The Wellsburg Healthcare Center with her loving family by her side. Born April 13, 1935, in Wheeling, WV, she was the daughter of the late William Hickman and Sarah (Edge) Platt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her eight brothers, Edward F. Hickman, Thomas C. Platt, Michael Platt, Clarence Platt, William Platt, Robert Platt, John Platt, and Ruel Platt, Jr.; and one sister, Lillian Platt. Doramae was a graduate of Wellsburg High School, Class of 1953, and was a faithful member of Follansbee United Methodist Church. Throughout her working years, she was employed as a manager for G.C. Murphy Company and Dollar General. She cherished time spent with her nieces and nephews and especially enjoyed trips to the ocean and warm sunny days. She is survived by her nieces, Deidra Ciccolella of Follansbee, WV, Kimberly Williams of Weirton, WV, Patricia (Rick) Underwood of Weirton, and Darla McClain of Washington, PA; her nephew, John Hickman of Washington, PA; great-nieces and great-nephews Bobby, Khristian, Zac, and Abby; and her dear friend, Lynda (Russell) Clem of Follansbee, WV; along with several other nieces and nephews. Family and friends were received on Monday, May 11, 2026 until the time of the funeral service, at Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee, with Pastor Christina Parnell officiating. Private inurnment will be held at a later time.
