EDDY ENSMINGER, 74, of Follansbee, WV, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026, after a long and fierce battle with pancreatic cancer. He faced his illness with the same grit, stubborn strength, and quiet courage that defined his entire life. Eddy spent his younger years racing dirtbikes throughout the 70s and 80s and never lost his passion for motorcycles. Eddy was known by everyone as a kind, generous, and endlessly helpful man, the type who would drop anything to lend a hand. A true jack of all trades, he seemed to know how to fix just about anything, and he shared that knowledge freely with anyone who needed it. He met the love of his life, Vicki, in 1972 while driving his prized 1972 Oldsmobile 442. From the moment they met, Eddy devoted his entire life to her. Their marriage was built on loyalty, partnership, and a deep, steady love that never wavered. Eddy worked at Weirton Steel for 45 years, a testament to his loyalty, work ethic, and pride in providing for his family. No matter how long the shift or how hard the day, his family always came first. They were his greatest joy and his deepest purpose. He loved watching westerns, spending time with good company, and enjoying simple moments. But above all, he loved his family, and he showed it through action, sacrifice, and the steady, dependable presence he offered every day of his life. Eddy will be remembered as the kindest man, a devoted husband, a loving father, a hard worker, and a friend to anyone who needed one. His legacy lives on in the people he helped, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely. He was born in Fairmont, WV to the late Leroy Mack Ensminger and Dora Lee Lamp Barr. He retired from Weirton Steel Corp./Arcleor Mittal where he worked in Production Inventory Control and was a member of the New Day Christian Center, Follansbee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Larry and Mike Ensminger. He is survived by his wife, Vicki Lynn Carson Ensminger; two sons, Eric M. Ensminger (Nichole) of Weirton, WV and Christopher B. Ensminger (Shanelle) of Knox, PA; two brothers, Wayne Ensminger (Luann) of Follansbee, WV and Scott Ensminger (Michelle) of Colliers, WV; two sisters, Myra Porter (Bobby) of Missouri and Denise Hendrickson (John) of Wellsburg, WV; a sister-in-law, Karen Truax (Kenny) of Weirton; four grandchildren: Anthony, Kaden, Kolten, and Camden; a special niece, Amanda Burson (David) of Maryland; a special cousin, Linda McDonald of Ohio; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
