Wellsburg 4th of July Committee Releases Event Schedule

The full schedule for the 2026 Wellsburg Fourth of July Celebration was recently released, unveiling an expanded lineup of events in honor of the nation’s 250th anniversary.
This year’s celebration features several exciting additions and returning favorites, with organizers placing a strong emphasis on creating activities for all ages throughout the week. Events will take place daily, with Central Park serving as a hub for family-friendly entertainment, competitions, and live performances.
One of the most anticipated highlights is the return of the Oil Can Derby, which was canceled last year. Thanks to the leadership of Kevin Maloney, the event is back and bigger than ever. In addition to reviving the derby, Maloney has introduced a brand-new companion event — the Superkids Race — designed to give younger participants their own opportunity to take part in the excitement.
Organizers have also expanded daily programming to keep the energy going throughout the entire celebration. Activities include crowd favorites like a hot dog eating contest and an Oreo stacking challenge, along with live music, tournaments, contests, and community events happening each day.
From the kickoff block party to the parade, live entertainment, and fireworks finale, this year’s celebration has been designed with one goal in mind: to offer something for everyone.
“We’ve worked hard to build a schedule that brings people together all week long,” organizers said. “Whether you’re coming for the competitions, the music, the kids’ activities, or just to enjoy the atmosphere, there’s truly something for everyone this year.”
The Wellsburg Fourth of July Celebration continues to be a proud community tradition, and this year’s expanded schedule reflects both its growth and its commitment to celebrating America’s 250th in a big way.
