The historic Brooke Hills Playhouse is kicking off its 55th anniversary season with the hilarious, heart-filled Southern comedy, The Second-to- Last Chance Ladies League, which is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Dramatists Play Service. Opening night on June 5 promises the Ohio Valley an evening of laughter, resilience, and the power of female friendship.
Written by the masters of Southern comedy—Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope, and Jamie Wooten—and under the direction of Bill Deerfield, this delightful sequel to Always a Bridesmaid catches up with four lifelong friends: Libby Ruth (Heather Deerfield), Deedra (Sheila Cavalette), Monette (Emily Hores), and Charlie (Teresa Torlone). When the women trade in their bridesmaid dresses to rescue their favorite local wedding venue, they are plunged into a year of hilarious, high-stakes event planning, wacky memorial services, and everything in between.
Performances will run over three consecutive weekends, including June 5–7, June 12–14, and June 19–21.
All standard evening performances on Friday’s and Saturday’s begin at 8 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.
