INVITATION TO BID
The City of Follansbee, West Virginia, is soliciting sealed bids for the purchase of one (1) new current model Ford F-550 Medium Duty Chassis Dump Truck or approved equal, in accordance with the requirements of West Virginia Code and the City’s purchasing policies.
Minimum Specifications
The vehicle shall meet or exceed the following minimum specifications:
New current model year Ford F-550 Medium Duty, or approved equal; four-wheel drive (4×4); Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) not to exceed 26,000 pounds (Non-CDL); regular cab; automatic transmission; air conditioning; power steering; power brakes; trailer tow package with receiver hitch; integrated trailer brake controller; backup alarm; heavy-duty alternator and battery; manufacturer’s standard warranty; dump body; 9-foot steel dump body; minimum 7-gauge steel floor; electric-over-hydraulic hoist; combination or barn-door tailgate; cab protector; mud flaps; LED stop, tail, and clearance lights; and body fully installed and operational upon delivery;
Bid Requirements
Bidders shall include:
Complete specifications for the proposed vehicle; total purchase price; estimated delivery date; warranty information; name and address of authorized service facility; and any exceptions to the specifications.
The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities or irregularities in the bidding process, and to accept the bid determined to be in the best interest of the City. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder meeting the specifications and all applicable requirements.
Bid Submission
Bids shall be clearly marked: “Bid – Ford F-550 Non-CDL Dump Truck” and delivered to: City of Follansbee Attn: City Manager
Bid Deadline: September 11, 2026 at 3:30 p.m. Bids received after the stated deadline will not be opened or considered.
