James F. Arnold

JAMES F. ARNOLD, 99, of Weirton, WV, passed away Tuesday November 22, 2022 at Grace Cottage at Serra Village. He was born October 13, 1923 in Weirton, son of the late James S. and Sara Eula Fullerton Arnold. He is also preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy “Dottie” Jean Shane Arnold (2010); son, Dean F. Arnold; daughter-in-law, Penelope Arnold; and sisters, Irene Arnold and Ruth Herron. James was a 1940 graduate of Weir High School and worked as branch manager at Scott Lumber Company where he retired in 1988 after 34 years. He was a member of Oakland Presbyterian Church where he was treasurer for 20 years. James enjoyed coaching baseball in both Florence and Weirton Baseball Associations. He was a past president of Weirton Rotary Club, member of Tri-State Harmonizers Barbershop Chorus in Steubenville, OH, member of the Hancock County Republican Party, member of Richard Vaux Lodge No. 454 F. & A.M. 32nd Degree and at age 85 was a member of Gideons International. James is survived by sons, James S. Arnold (Phyllis) of Charleston, J. Dennis Arnold (Joyce) of West Liberty, Thomas E. Arnold (Patricia) of Fairmont and Kevin D. Arnold of Morgantown; 10 Grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Linda Arnold of Sewickley. Visitation was held Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at Steel and Wolfe Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Weirton, where the funeral service was held Wednesday, November 30, 2022, with Pastor J. Dennis Arnold and Pastor Randy Krebs presiding. Interment followed at Grandview Cemetery, Florence, PA.
