Gregory Neil Harper

GREGORY NEIL HARPER, 58, of Follansbee WV died peacefully on Monday, December 5, 2022, at his home with his family by his side. Greg was born on September 15, 1964, in Fairmont, WV a son of the late Garry Neil and Harole Ann (Ridgely) Harper Kerr; in addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Carma West. Greg was a 1982 graduate of Brooke High School and he earned his Associate Degree from Jefferson Technical College in 1985 in Electronical Engineering. Greg enjoyed working as an Electronics Engineer for radio companies in Ohio and Pennsylvania, dating back to the early days of WSTV/WRKY in Steubenville, OH and most currently ForeverMediaInc in Robinson Twp. PA. He was a kind and great friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him and working along side him. Greg had a quick wit, mostly filled with one liners and always cheerful to be around. He loved his wife and kids and his only “daughter”, Marlee, his little dog with everything he had and put them before anything else. Greg was one of the biggest sports fanatics you’d ever meet. He’d be the first one at the field/event whenever he could. He cheered for his beloved Tampa Bay Buccaneers and his Brooke Bruins. He supported all kids, playing any sport from any school. You never know where he’d pop up. Greg is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years Tammy (West) Harper at home; two sons, Nathan (Samantha) Harper of Wheeling, WV, Chad Harper of Follansbee, WV; his father-in-law Verland West of Follansbee, WV; a brother-in-law, Daniel (Amy) West of Rockville, MD; two nieces and two nephews, Sydney (Brandon) Parra, Reese and Charles West, and Lex Boor. Visitation for Greg will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022, from 3–7 p.m., at the Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will take place at Vitos 2 catering in Follansbee and all are welcome to join. Inurnment will be held privately. Greg’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Valley Hospice and Allegheny General Hospital for all their love and care.
