Bethany College Holds Annual Froscars Award Ceremony

On Sunday, March 26, Bethany College Greek students gathered in Commencement Hall for the annual Froscars Award Ceremony. Froscars (or “Fraternity Oscars”) is a formal, Oscars-style award ceremony dedicated to celebrating the achievements of Greek students and to mark the end of Greek Week.
Greek students participated in a wide variety of events during Greek Week from March 20 to 26. Everything from the traditional Pyramid and Greek Sing to new events such as a Mario Kart Tournament, Boat Races, Jeopardy, and more. At the end of every Greek Week, students dress in formal attire to celebrate the Froscars.
This year, the Froscars were hosted by communications majors Olivia Zinn and Will Sarver. Superlatives included Most Athletic Greek Man and Woman, Best Greek Couple, Funniest Greek Man and Woman, Celebrity Look-a-Like, and more.
The following honors were awarded to outstanding Greek students for their contributions to both Greek Life and Bethany College for the year 2022-2023:
The Mitchell Sotera Male New Member of the Year – Cody Davis, Delta Tau Delta
The Jordan Weaver Female New Member of the Year – Carley Street, Alpha Xi Delta
Greek President of the Year (Fraternity) – Tyler Britton, Phi Kappa Tau
Greek President of the Year (Sorority) – Alexia Chavez-Brown, Phi Mu
Fraternity New Member Class of the Year – Delta Tau Delta, Spring 2022 and Fall 2022
Sorority New Member Class of the Year – Zeta Tau Alpha, Spring 2022 and Fall 2022
Fraternity Senior Class of the Year – Phi Kappa Tau, Spring 2023 Class
Sorority Senior Class of the Year – Alpha Xi Delta, Spring 2023 Class
Greek Man of the Year – Skylar Price, Delta Tau Delta
Greek Woman of the Year – Katelyn Huck, Alpha Xi Delta
Greek Advisor of the Year – Ashley Subasic, Zeta Tau Alpha
Additionally, junior Madison McDonald (Phi Mu) was awarded the Carol Borden Tyler Excellence in Greek Life Award, which is given every year to the student who makes a substantial impact at Bethany College. McDonald is being honored as the 2022-2023 recipient for her outstanding work as Panhellenic President.
