With a 49-23 win over John Marshall Friday night, the Brooke Bruins not only spoiled the Homecoming contest for the Monarchs, but they also moved about the .500 mark on the season at 5-3.
Sophomore Ty Sperringer started at quarterback in place of his brother, senior Braelyn, who was injured.
Ty proceeded to light up the Monarchs with 333 yards of total offense.

The Bruins responded with the own 80-yard drive, and on the 10th play Jace Campinelli grabbed as 12-yard pass for the score, which was knotted at 7-all as the period ended.

Bruin Chase Felouzis recovered a Monarchs fumble at the 40-yard line
on John Marshalls’ next possession.
Brooke took just two plays to hit paydirt again as Sperringer connected with Anthony Bachinski for 8 yards and the Bruin’s score of the night.
Gavin Moore ran the ball in for two extra points as Brooke eased out to a 21-7 lead.
Forced to punt, the Monarchs then saw Bachinski returned a punt 40 yards to the their 15-yard line. Sperringer then tossed him an 11-yard scoring pass to push the lead to 28-7.
John Marshall edged closed with a 40-yard field goal just before halftime, but the Bruins took a 28-10 lead to the locker room.
In the second half, Sperringer and Bachinski connected from 6 yards out, Knapp ran the ball in from 1 yard out, and Campinelli ran in from 2 yards to cap complete Brooke’s scoring and seal the 49-23 win.
