WesBanco Bank Announces Retirement of Two Longtime Employees

WesBanco Bank’s Wellsburg branch, is announcing the retirement of two longtime employees, Jeanette Buffington and Madeline Brozstek, who will officailly be retiring Tuesday, Nov. 14.
Brozstek started at Wesbanco February 14, 2007, as a part-time teller. After a few years, she moved up to Lead Teller, which is also the job she currently holds. Her responsibilities included training and overseeing other tellers along with working the teller line. She also took on numerous other duties which helped the bank run smoothly, but are too numerous to mention.
Throughout the years, Brozstek’s co-workers enjoyed her baking skills with homemade birthday cakes, cookies and nut rolls. Many of the employees at the Wellsburg branch hope that some of these treats find their way back to them with all of her new found free time to bake!
Brozstek is looking forward to spending time with family and friends (hopefully lots of time baking).
Jeanette Buffington began her career at the bank on October 31, 1983.
The bank was Wellsburg National Bank at the time, and she started as a teller. She moved to new accounts in 1985, the same year the bank became part of WesBanco.
In 1997, she became an officer of the bank and a few years later became assistant manager. She is ending her employment as Branch Office Manager.
During her career Buffington was involved in many community activities and played important roles in the expansion of the Brooke County Library and the Brooke County Easter Seals.
Buffington says she has enjoyed meeting and helping so many customers and co-workers throughout the years, many of them becoming close friends.
She is looking forward to spending time with family and friends, along with planning adventures in travel.
WesBanco Bank will hold an open house at the Wellsburg branch in their honor Tuesday, Nov. 14, from 2-4pm. Everyone is invited to stop in and give their well wishes.
