WVDOT: Market Street Bridge connecting WV 2 and Stubenville, Ohio to close to pedestrian and vehicular traffic

BROOKE COUNTY, W.Va. — The Market Street Bridge, connecting WV 2 and Stubenville, Ohio, will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic starting December 21, 2023. 
 
The West Virginia Department of Transportation (WVDOT) has been monitoring the bridge on a three-month inspection cycle, monitoring the cable anchorage system. With the previous three-month inspection, the weight limit was lowered from five to three tons. Out of an abundance of caution following…
