Gary Eugene Tennant

GARY EUGENE TENNANT, 79, of Wellsburg, West Virginia, passed peacefully surrounded by his closest loved ones, on April 10, 2024. He was born in Saint Marys, WV on December 30, 1944, the son of Micha and Ora Tennant. Gary was loved and cared for by seven of his siblings, six brothers and one sister. In Gary’s 79 years of life, he spent over 60 of them with his late wife, and “sweetheart,” Luvada Tennant. They got married on January 19, 1963, and had two beautiful daughters. Through the many years together, some of Gary’s favorite memories were traveling across the country with his family. He bought a motor home so that his loved ones could join him on his many journeys and make memories together. Gary was an active member of the church and loved giving back to the community. For some time, Gary lost his faith; moving back to West Virginia, from California, he found his way home to The Lord. His Sunday mornings were dedicated to chauffeuring family and friends to church so that they could worship together. Every chance he could, he played guitar and serenaded the community, with his love of music. Gary once decided he wanted to make an even bigger difference; he volunteered with his church on a trip to Africa to spread love and the word to more of those who needed it. He was a superintendent at the National Mill Service and a decorated Diesel Mechanic for decades. Throughout his life, he was an active member of ‘The Antique Oldsmobile Club” and “Mingo Sportsmanship Club.” Being a part of the Oldsmobile Club, he attended multiple car shows, presenting his Cutlass and Jaguar all over the country. Gary was a role model, friend, and father figure to many in his lifetime. He is survived by his brother, Eddie Dennis, and his wife, Geneva; brother, Bob Tennant; his daughter, Brenda, and her husband Terence Duffy; seven amazing grandchildren: Teirria, Landon, Addelyn, Adler, Bradley, Sofia, and Maven; and 15 nieces and nephews. Gary was a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather. His legacy of love, strength, and hard-working devotion will continue through his descendants. He will be deeply missed by all. The family held a Celebration of Life for Gary Tennant on April 21, 2024, at Froehilch’s Classic Corner.
