Fuscardo Family Urgent Care Celebrates Opening

On Wednesday, Dec. 3, residents gathered to celebrate the opening of Fuscardo Family Urgent Care in Weirton. Organizers held a ribbon cutting ceremony and a small open house.
The facility is located on Three springs Drive in Weirton and is run by Jesamyn and Mitchell Fuscardo. The father-daughter duo worked together at a local emergency room for more than a decade.
For years, a local father and daughter have dedicated their lives to providing quality healthcare in the Ohio Valley. Now, they are continuing that mission by opening the new medical facility.
Combined, they have 50 years of medical experience in an emergency setting.
“We like taking care of patients and doing it on our terms,” Mitch Fuscardo said. “People that we got to work for us, we’ve worked with for several years. They’re (very dedicated to) patient centered care when it comes to taking care of them well and treating them well. That’s what we want to do.”
The facility offers on-site X-rays, rapid testing for several infections and diseases and much more. Insurance, workers comp and self-pay are accepted.
The urgent care is fully staffed and as they get busier, Jesamyn Fuscardo said they hope to hire more staff members. Additionally, the urgent care is board certified in emergency medicine — something she said sets the facility apart from other urgent care facilities.
“That’s a huge thing,” she said. “I think for even just a small urgent care clinic that you have people with that experience and that background that you normally wouldn’t see in other urgent care facilities.”
The facility offers a comfortable waiting area and six examination rooms.
Artwork painted on the walls of those rooms was completed by Fuscardo family members. Working together to create a comfortable environment for patients was something they were very happy to do.
“The amount of people in my family that were coming in helping them with open arms is just so nice,” Abriana Scherer said. “I’m glad that they’re able to share ‘family’ to the rest of the community.”
Jesamyn Fuscardo said the family takes great pride in approaching care because they are from the area.
“You trust us,” she said. “It’s from your hometown. We’re from where you’re from. You need to keep it in the family – Fuscardo Family Urgent Care.”
