The Brooke County Commissioners are seeking candidates to fill the Assistant Shelter Director/Dog Warden/Humane Officer. The duties associated with the position consist of, but not limited to, enforce the laws of Brooke County and the State pf West Virginia as they pertain to animals including the care and control of animals. Initiates and attends court proceedings when necessary. Provided prompt and courteous responses for animal services. Handles all types of domesticated and wild animals. Possesses the ability to handle aggressive animals during high-stress situations, and to predict their behavior based on their current actions.
Candidates must be able to work Monday thru Friday plus weekends, be able to lift 50 lbs. +, ave a valid driver’s license, and be able to pass a background check, including drug screening.
