Mary Agnes Tyson

MARY AGNES TYSON, 89, of Weirton, WV passed away Friday, December 23, 2022, at Country Club Manor, Steubenville, OH. Mary was born March 10, 1933, in Weirton, WV, the daughter of the late Yefto Prodanovich and Mildred Krnich Prodanovich Cekinovich. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Tyson, whom she married on August 9, 1957; her uncle Robert Krnich; and her brothers, Nick Prodanovich, Samuel Cekinovich and Michael Cekinovich. Mary had previously been employed by “Washbowls”, G.C. Murphy, and she retired from Kmart in Weirton where she had worked for over 20 years. She was a member of, and practiced her faith, at St. Paul Catholic Church, in Weirton. She was a member of Three Score Senior Citizens Club and enjoyed traveling to baseball games with her husband and going on bus trips with her senior friends. Mary is survived by her sisters-in-law, Josephine Cekinovich and Blanche Tyson; her nephews, Nicholas and Samuel Cekinovich, Jr., Steven and Ted Cekinovich; nieces, Maria Costlow, Ann-Marie Florak and Nikki Sue Hollenbach, and several great-nieces and nephews. Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 until the time of Mass of Christian Burial, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Weirton, with Father Tom Magary presiding. Interment followed at St. Paul Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Steel and Wolfe Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc.
