Phillip Nelson Joyner

PHILLIP NELSON JOYNER, 70, of Weirton, WV died peacefully at his home on the evening of December 20, 2022. Phillip was born on April 7, 1952, in Plymouth, Michigan one of seven children born to James and Shirley Williams Joyner. On May 16, 1997, Phil married Marcy Bohon. After they were married the couple moved to the area to help take care of Marcy’s mom. Phil provided for his family by working as a groundskeeper for Robert Morris University. In his free time, he loved to go golfing. He also like to search for treasures with his metal detector, and gaze at the stars with his telescope. Most of all Phil will be remembered for his quiet and calming nature. In addition to his parents, Phil was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Joyner and his sister, Suzie. He will be remembered with love by his wife, Marcy Bohon Joyner, his son, Phillip Edward (Sarah) Joyner; his brothers, Gary and Jimmy Joyner; his sister, Rita and his sister, Sandy Henning; and his four grandchildren, Hope, Gabe, Kyra, and Phillip. Cremation arrangements were under the care of the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, Weirton. Memorial contributions may be made in Phil’s memory to the Alzheimer Association www.alz.org.
